Group Regulatory Affairs Manager
International Business Partner for regulatory compliance

Position

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with food law and food related policies across all operational companies within Zeelandia
  • Developing and functionally leading the international Zeelandia QESHR regulatory affairs network
  • Defining the regulatory affairs strategy and implementing policies, guidelines and best practices
  • Providing guidance and support with an expert view at several stage gates of the NPD-innovation process, working closely with Marketing and R&D
  • Advising internal stakeholders as well as customers on legislation and regulatory requirements; assuring implementation of regulatory changes affecting specifications
  • Identifying, following and reporting regulatory trends and developments that impact the business and customers
  • Designing scenarios for possible future developments and implications
  • Ensuring that the company voice is heard; representing Zeelandia in the European trade association FEDIMA; coordinating within Zeelandia the input into and feedback from FEDIMA
  • Building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, like government officials and regulatory agencies
  • Member of the QESHR – Management Team and reporting to the QESHR Director.

Profile

  • BSc or MSc degree in Food Law, Food Technology, Human Nutrition
  • Relevant work experience in a comparable role in the food production sector (FMCG, business-to-business ingredients) or directly related (e.g. trade associations, regulatory agencies)
  • Up to date knowledge of international food laws and regulations
  • Experience working with Marketing and R&D, able to co-create and ‘navigate the grey’
  • Able to deal with multiple priorities and conflicting interests in a moving environment
  • Team player with a results driven mindset, whilst remaining accurate and standing firm when needed
  • Has external focus and understands international market dynamics
  • Excellent influencing and social skills and a convincing communicator, both in writing and verbally; fluency in English, other languages preferred
  • Personal skills: proactive and positive critical attitude, setting priorities, commercial awareness, business acumen, creative in problem solving and pragmatic.
